I was delighted to attend the recent Westpac Outstanding Women’s Award (WOWA) event hosted by Westpac PNG.
The celebration witnessed some absolutely beautiful and fascinating stories of the journeys of these PNG women leaders, young and old, nominated for their sterling performances across different sectors. These included areas such as education and healthcare to environmental impact, science and business. Every one of them had their challenges, but they never gave up. Their success reflects that positive mindset to keep going ahead.
This event also brought out the need for more such empowered role models to motivate the next generation of leaders.
Congratulations to every nominee and the award winners! I strongly believe their stories need to be shared across global networks to recognise the successes of women’s leadership happening in PNG.
