With the recent 80th Independence Day celebration of the Republic of India, it seemed timely to pause and reflect on the synergies and similarities between India and PNG. The newly formed PNGIBC can do a lot to further strengthen these ties.
India is forecast to be the fastest-growing economy in the world, and PNG has a $20bn opportunity in bilateral trade with India over the next decade.
India has the world’s largest population, so demand is high for many of Papua New Guinea’s valuable commodities. At the same time, PNG can now access expertise and investment from India across key industry sectors.
PNGIBC’s core aim is to grow bilateral trade between Papua New Guinea and India to its full potential. We enable industry groups to find access to trading, investment and partnership opportunities between our two nations.
These industry groups range from Critical Minerals, Agriculture, Tourism, Resources, Fisheries, MSME, Space and Forestry to ICT, Education and Healthcare services.
